IRRIS® Honored with Asset Visibility Achievement Award

IRRIS honored with Asset visibility Achievement award(July 18, 2011/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, and its client, the U.S. Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency (SDDCTEA), were recognized as Asset Visibility Achievement Award winners at the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement’s (IDGAs) Military Logistics Summit 2011™. The award was presented to Mr. Robert Korpanty, SDDCTEA’s chief of the office of the special assistant for transportation and infrastructure, at the IDGA Military Logistics Summit networking lunch on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.

The Asset Visibility Achievement Award recognizes outstanding contribution to the advancement of asset visibility in military logistics, working to advance asset visibility through the development of new or legacy systems, processes, and/or technologies. IRRIS allows decision makers at operation centers worldwide to visualize assets and to perform analysis and location-based queries. The core mapping and information aggregation functions provide an ideal platform for near-real-time asset visibility.

“IRRIS breaks down barriers between government and military agencies by effectively integrating existing technologies and data from military agencies; local, state, and federal governments; and commercial sources,” said Mr. Brendan Wesdock, GeoDecisions’ senior vice president. “Simply put, the IRRIS asset visibility system enables users the tools to better monitor transportation of critical supply chain materials from origin to destination.”

IRRIS was originally developed for the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, a component command of the U.S. Transportation Command to track, manage, and document the movement of military surface cargo transported throughout the world. Today, the application serves a number of federal and state agencies. For more information, visit irris.com.
