(April 22, 2014/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions was awarded a $5.7 million contract by the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency (SDDCTEA) to continue sustainment and development for the award-winning IRRIS® application. Developed by GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in enterprise geographic information system (GIS) solutions, IRRIS is a mission-essential command and control system that integrates timely tracking, infrastructure data, and incident response capabilities into a secure geospatial tool.
Used for daily operations and in times of crisis, IRRIS enables USTRANSCOM and its subordinate commands to manage assets and infrastructure, as well as better share information across the enterprise. It also provides the Defense Transportation Tracking System and the Defense Courier Division with a command and control solution.
“We’re very excited to continue our partnership with USTRANSCOM and SDDCTEA to provide the IRRIS platform to the warfighter,” said Brendan J. Wesdock, MCP, GISP, president of GeoDecisions. “IRRIS has been instrumental in facilitating the rapid deployment of assets, equipment, and personnel.”
GeoDecisions provides USTRANSCOM with onsite support at IRRIS project headquarters at Scott Air Force Base in O’Fallon, Ill. Located throughout the U.S., developers support IRRIS from several GeoDecisions offices. The latest GeoDecisions IRRIS contract includes a six-month base in addition to three option periods.
GeoDecisions’ experienced staff of professional consultants, analysts, and developers support clients worldwide. Fundamental to the company’s award-winning approach is the integration of spatial information to empower existing systems and processes. GeoDecisions’ philosophy is based on an enterprisewide approach to the integration of diverse information technologies, data formats, and systems.
