GeoDecisions Public Records Information Mapping Engine (GeoPRIME)

GeoDecisions offers user-friendly and affordable municipal Web sites that display property, recreation, and economic development information. GeoPRIME, GeoDecisions’ multi-platform framework for building spatial Web applications, is an easy-to-maintain, low-cost solution designed to meet the needs of counties, regional planning organizations, and municipalities.

GeoDecisions has successfully implemented a number of rich Web-based mapping sites designed and deployed for public use. Two examples of this type of intuitive, user-friendly application have been developed for York County, Pa., and the city of Green Bay, Wis.

Overview

GeoPRIME contains components common to most spatial Web applications, such as feature-rich map display components and navigation, query, and printing tools. The solution is cross browser-compatible and is made up of only Flex™ and HTML files. This feature makes the GeoPRIME platform independent, allowing the solution to be used with any type of Web server. GeoPRIME is designed to take advantage of the speed, flexibility, and ease of use of ArcGIS Server.

Administrator Console

GeoPRIME features a user-friendly console interface for managing the content of the portal. The console is designed to take advantage of ArcGIS Server services explorer and allow for the addition and/or modification of map layers, searches, and identifiable features. The console includes validation and other safeguards put into place to ensure safe and secure customizations. Standard functionality includes:

• Layer Management - add and remove map layers based on the available services in ArcGIS Server cached and dynamic service types
• Search Creation/Management - create and modify custom queries based on available data layers in ArcGIS Server map services 
• Identify Feature Management - create and modify identifiable layers and custom information windows.

Maintenance

GeoDecisions offers the option of entering into a low-cost maintenance agreement. Available maintenance options include all upgrades of the base code and functionality, upgrades due to the release of newer versions of ESRI or database software, and new functionality and tools.

ArcGIS Server Hosting

GeoDecisions offers the option of Web hosting agreements for map portals developed using ArcGIS Server. Our flexible ArcGIS Server hosting services provide choices for the level of support, network capacity, and security to meet specific business objectives.

Client Responsibilities /Considerations

In order to provide GeoPRIME as a cost-effective solution, several prerequisites are required (custom Web development is also available beyond the base GeoPRIME installation):

• Minimum of ArcGIS Server 9.3 Workgroup Standard or higher must be installed
• A Web server must installed and functioning that supports PHP, JSP, or ASP
• Mapping services and caches must be built using ArcGIS Desktop tools (documentation available)
• Mapping services and ArcGIS Server REST API services explorer must be published/started
• Default configurations for map/search/identify functionality must be identified.

Note: GeoDecisions can provide solutions beyond these requirements, but are not included in the GeoPRIME price structure.
