GeoDecisions to Present Education Session at APWA

August 12, 2003/Harrisburg, Pa.: GeoDecisions, an information technology leader specializing in geographic information systems, will present “NASSCO not NASCAR: 4,000 Miles of Pipeline” at the upcoming American Public Works Association (APWA) conference. The conference will be held at the San Diego Convention Center from Aug. 24-27, 2003.

GeoDecisions will be demonstrating innovative solutions to streamline and consolidate sanitary sewer system data collection and analysis. The company will present its experience working with the 3 Rivers Wet Weather communities, consisting of 83 municipalities that feed into the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority interceptor in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The presentation will detail the challenges faced by the 3 Rivers organization, such as selecting a consistent, standardized pipe rating system; collecting sewer line video inspection information; videotaping 4,000 miles of sanitary pipeline; assigning the National Association of Sewer Service Contractor (NASSCO) rating; and streamlining the collection of manhole inspection information.

GeoDecisions will explain how various challenges were met and familiarize attendees with new ways to solve existing problems through the use of affordable technology. “NASSCO not NASCAR: 4,000 Miles of Pipeline” will be presented on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 2-2:50 p.m., or visit GeoDecisions’ kiosk in the ESRI® booth for more information.
