U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Selects GeoDecisions

September 1, 2004/Harrisburg, Pa.: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Federal Facilities Branch has selected GeoDecisions to develop a Web-based, geographic information system (GIS)-enabled EPA Knowledge Management Application (EPAKMA).

Using cutting-edge tools, including the SVG Viewer and XML, the license-free EPAKMA will promote easier departmental access to Region 4 Federal Facilities data. The application will allow regional project managers to organize and visualize data related to a particular area of interest by conducting either a semantic query or a location-based query.

EPAKMA will also provide the EPA with enhanced decision-support tools, greater availability of spatially-enabled information for decision-making and presentations, and more effective utilization of the information gathered through the Superfund Site Mitigation Program.
