Banning Named GIS Analyst for GeoDecisions
December 17, 2004/Harrisburg, Pa.: GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology industry that specializes in geospatial solutions, recently named John W. Banning geographic information systems (GIS) analyst for the firm’s Austin office.
Prior to joining GeoDecisions, Banning was employed by ESRI of Redlands, Calif. He performed a wide range of software development functions, including developing testing procedures and harnesses for ArcIMS® and ArcGISTM applications, conducting presentations and demonstrations on appropriate software uses, writing documentation and samples, and actively participating in software development. He was also a member of the initial team that developed the GeoSpatial One Stop Portal.
Banning will be responsible for supporting GeoDecisions’ regional government client base in Austin, encompassing many facets of associated GIS projects. He will also perform project management duties and application development.
Banning has six years of experience in GIS. He holds a bachelor of arts in geography from The University of Texas at Austin and a master of arts in geography from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA).
