GeoDecisions and PENNDOT Receive 2004 Diamond Honor Award

February 6, 2004/Harrisburg, Pa.: The American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA) recently presented GeoDecisions, a recognized leader in geospatial solutions, and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) with a 2004 Diamond Honor Award for Engineering Excellence. GeoDecisions and PENNDOT received this award for the development of PENNDOT’s geographic information system (GIS) portal.

PENNDOT’s GIS portal, composed of numerous intranet and Internet-based applications, enables users to visualize roadway information in various formats, including maps, reports, straight line diagrams, and videologs.

“The portal allows PENNDOT users and the public to quickly and easily access
up-to-date transportation data through a single, dynamic Web-based interface,” stated Thomas TenEyck, director of PENNDOT’s Bureau of Planning and Research.

The 2004 Diamond Honor Award was presented to GeoDecisions and PENNDOT during ACEC/PA’s Diamond Awards for Engineering Excellence banquet at the Hotel Hershey on February 5.
