Kolom Becomes Certified ArcIMS® Trainer
September 1, 2004/Harrisburg, Pa.: Douglas J. Kolom, project manager for GeoDecisions, has been named a certified ArcIMS trainer. Kolom is based in the firm’s Chicago, Ill., office.
Kolom recently taught an introductory ArcIMS class at the firm’s corporate office in Harrisburg, Pa. ArcIMS is a solution for delivering dynamic maps and geographic information systems (GIS) data and services via the Internet. It provides a highly scalable framework for GIS Web publishing that meets the needs of corporate intranets and the demands of worldwide Internet access.
The training, attended by 20 programmers and programmer analysts from GeoDecisions, offered instruction on how to develop, customize, and administer ArcIMS Web sites. Basic site tuning and architecture, as well as ArcXML®, were presented to the class.
