GeoDecisions to Host Seminar on GIS Technology

May 25, 2005/Harrisburg, Pa.: GeoDecisions, a leader in the information technology industry that specializes in geospatial solutions, has teamed with the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania to host an educational seminar on the emerging field of geographic information systems (GIS).

For professional and personal applications, GIS technology is used to create electronic maps on such features as weather patterns, waterways, highways, land uses, cargo shipments, and driving directions.

GeoDecisions’ seminar will be an excellent opportunity for leaders in the public and private sectors to not only learn how GIS applications impact the way people live, work, and travel, but how the technology can lead to greater profits, empowered enterprise IT systems, and better business decisions.

“GIS enhances the ability of governments, organizations, private companies, and individuals to solve problems and make well-informed decisions,” said Robert Scaer, president of GeoDecisions. “GeoDecisions is pleased to showcase how the power of GIS technology is impacting our daily lives.”

GeoDecisions will demonstrate the value of GIS technology from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at the Technology Council headquarters, 3721 TecPort Dr. in Swatara Township. To register, call the Technology Council at 717-635-2113 or visit www.tccp.org. The event is free to Technology Council members and $50 for non-members.
