GeoDecisions Launches IRRIS® 6.0: New Edition Offers Enhanced Features and Functionality

June 24, 2005/Harrisburg, Pa.: GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology industry that specializes in geospatial solutions, is pleased to introduce IRRIS 6.0 – the next generation of IRRIS technology, offering improved mapping, reporting, and querying capabilities.

Through patented IRRIS technology, critical information about transportation infrastructure – including roads, bridges, tunnels, and dams, as well as real-time weather, traffic, and real-time vehicle locations – is integrated and displayed in an intuitive Web-based map format. Also, the technology’s Total Asset Visibility (TAV) and In-Transit Visibility (ITV) functions make it the ideal tool for transportation logistics and real-time tracking.

The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency (SDDCTEA), the Naval Operational Logistics Support Center-Ammunition (NOLSC), and other military and homeland security agencies have used this system to deploy armed forces and emergency personnel, as well as to manage the movement of cargo and equipment on a global basis.

“GeoDecisions continues to pioneer innovative geographic information systems (GIS) for logistics and transportation security with the release of IRRIS 6.0.,” said Jon Pollack, vice president of advanced technologies for GeoDecisions. “This technology combines the latest advances in information technology (IT), GIS, logistics, location-based services (LBS).”

IRRIS 6.0 enhancements include:

“IRRIS technology has significantly improved the SDDC’s ability to organize and manage military personnel and track the movement of military cargo throughout the world,” said Paul Allred, SDDC’s IRRIS program manager. “We look forward to using the technology’s newest features in our daily operations.”
