GeoDecisions Awarded SAMS Phase II Contract
June 24, 2005/Harrisburg, Pa.: GeoDecisions, a leader in the information technology industry that specializes in geospatial solutions, has been contracted by the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) to complete Phase II work on the Safety Analysis Management System (SAMS).
SAMS is an authoritative, accurate, and reliable source of safety information for MDOT users. The application integrates several commercial software packages to provide Web-based query, map display, spatial analysis, statistical analysis, collision diagramming, and reporting capabilities.
During Phase I of the SAMS project, GeoDecisions completed project planning, needs analysis, requirements definition, and database design services. Phase II of the SAMS project will include high-level and detailed design, development, testing, deployment, and training activities.
When completed in 2006, the SAMS application will provide powerful and flexible crash analysis tools to support the identification and elimination of hazardous locations and conditions throughout Mississippi’s transportation networks.
