GeoDecisions Marks Two Decades of Providing Innovative IT and GIS Solutions

(June 8, 2006/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions is pleased to announce that the firm will reach its 20th anniversary on June 10, 2006. GeoDecisions is an award-winning leader in the information technology (IT) industry specializing in geospatial solutions. The firm provides a broad array of geospatial services and solutions for the government, homeland security, military, transportation, and commercial markets.

“During the past two decades, GeoDecisions has had the privilege of working with exceptional clients and business partners to deliver quality applications for the business markets we serve,” said Robert M. Scaer, president of GeoDecisions. “We thank all of our clients and friends for their continued support, and we look forward to another 20 years and beyond.”

Recently, GeoDecisions, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Geospatial Technologies Office, completed the development of Pennsylvania’s Geospatial Analysis of Threats and Incident Reports (GATIR) application. GATIR provides geospatial capabilities to the Pennsylvania Emergency Incident Reporting System (PEIRS) to help the Commonwealth’s agencies, local governments, and first responders coordinate effective emergency response and protect resources and assets.

GeoDecisions has also partnered with the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency (SDDCTEA) to develop IRRIS®, an award-winning, Web-based transportation security and logistics application that empowers military planners with access, knowledge, and visibility to view, analyze, and track mobile assets worldwide.

GeoDecisions was founded in 1986 by faculty members at The Pennsylvania State University. In January of 1992, GeoDecisions became a subsidiary of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm with more than 1,900 employees. Since its initial beginnings with a handful of employees, GeoDecisions has grown to more than 150 IT and GIS professionals.

GeoDecisions’ experienced staff of professional consultants, analysts, and developers supports clients across the United States. Fundamental to the company’s award-winning approach is the integration of spatial information to empower existing systems and processes. GeoDecisions’ philosophy is based on an enterprisewide approach to the integration of diverse information technologies, data formats, and systems.

GeoDecisions is ISO 9001:2000 certified for its operations nationwide.
