GeoDecisions Celebrates 20th Anniversary
(May 23, 2006/Newport News, Va.) GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology (IT) industry that specializes in geospatial solutions, is pleased to announce the firm’s 20th anniversary. GeoDecisions offers a broad array of geographic information system (GIS) services and solutions for the government, homeland security, military, transportation, and commercial markets.
The Newport News office of GeoDecisions specializes in asset management, utilities data conversion and integration, and water and wastewater mapping and modeling. It also provides application development and GIS strategic planning services.
GeoDecisions’ Newport News staff is working with the City of Newport News to inspect approximately 10,000 manholes via global positioning systems (GPS) to create more accurate maps of the sanitary sewer lines. This field data collection project will help officials prevent potential flooding and plan routine maintenance projects to ensure the health and safety of city residents. The Newport News staff is also providing services to Spotsylvania County, Va., and the City of Newport News Waterworks.
