GeoDecisions Celebrates 20th Anniversary
(April 17, 2006/Philadelphia, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology (IT) industry that specializes in geospatial solutions, is pleased to announce the firm’s 20th anniversary. GeoDecisions offers a broad array of geographic information system (GIS) services and solutions for the government, homeland security, military, transportation, and commercial markets.
GeoDecisions was formed in 1986 by faculty members at The Pennsylvania State University. In January of 1992, GeoDecisions became a subsidiary of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm with more than 1,900 employees. GeoDecisions relies on the expertise of more than 150 IT and GIS professionals in 19 offices nationwide.
The Philadelphia office of GeoDecisions specializes in developing geospatial enterprise portals, law enforcement solutions, and decision support models for planning. The staff provides program management, gap analysis, strategic planning, data conversion and development, requirements analysis, system and Web design, and integration and support services.
GeoDecisions’ Philadelphia office recently partnered with Hill International, Inc. and the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Neighborhood Transformation as members of the program management team for the successful Neighborhood Transformation Initiative. GeoDecisions has also teamed with the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, to create the award-winning Project Safe Neighborhoods Mapping and Analysis Program (PSN MAP).
GeoDecisions’ Philadelphia staff also serves as program managers for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Regional Counter Terrorism Task Force’s Law Enforcement Justice Information System, a communications system that will revolutionize the way local, county and state law enforcement share information in an operational setting.
