GeoDecisions Celebrates 20th Anniversary
(April 25, 2006/State College, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology (IT) industry that specializes in geospatial solutions, is pleased to announce the firm’s 20th anniversary. GeoDecisions offers a broad array of geographic information system (GIS) services and solutions for the government, homeland security, military, transportation, and commercial markets.
The State College office of GeoDecisions provides GIS services and transportation, homeland security, government, and commercial applications for local, state, and national clients. The office specializes in strategic and organizational planning, application development, environmental and corridor studies, and federal systems support.
GeoDecisions’ State College office recently partnered with The Pennsylvania State University GeoVISTA Research Center to develop a North-East Visualization and Analytics Center (NEVAC). One of five such regional centers in the United States, NEVAC will study how individuals and teams involved in homeland security activities use information technology to analyze complex information, build knowledge, and make decisions.
GeoDecisions was formed in 1986 by faculty members at The Pennsylvania State University. In January of 1992, GeoDecisions became a subsidiary of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm with more than 1,900 employees. GeoDecisions relies on the expertise of more than 150 IT and GIS professionals in 19 offices nationwide.
