Smith Named Business Development Manager
January 4, 2006/Harrisburg, Pa.: Brian J. Smith was recently promoted to business development manager for state government at GeoDecisions, a leader in the information technology industry that specializes in geospatial solutions. With this promotion, Smith is responsible for directing business development at the state level nationwide and will continue to manage the firm’s Newark, Del., office.
Smith has more than eight years of experience in the development of spatial intranet portals and business-related geographic information systems (GIS) applications. His areas of expertise include directing needs assessments, performing data conversion and modeling, and overseeing GIS design. Prior to assuming his new role, Smith served as a project manager for many of GeoDecisions’ transportation-related projects.

Smith holds a bachelor of science in regional planning with a minor in geography and GIS from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
