Gilbert Named to PaMAGIC Board
(May 31, 2007/State College, Pa.) Dave B. Gilbert was recently elected to the Board of the Pennsylvania Mapping and Geographic Information Consortium (PaMAGIC). The mission of PaMAGIC is to provide leadership and coordination to enhance the development, use, and access to spatial information and related services in Pennsylvania.
Based in State College, Pa., Gilbert serves as a senior project manager with GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions. With more than 20 years of experience, he oversees geographic information systems (GIS) services for commercial and state, county, and local government clients throughout Pennsylvania. Gilbert specializes in needs assessments, strategic planning, data conversion, and environmental modeling projects.
Gilbert holds a bachelor of science in wildlife science from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association and is active in the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s roundtable program. For more than 15 years, Gilbert has also served on the coordinating committee for a local watershed organization as an instructor for the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Hunter Trapper Education program.
