GeoDecisions to Provide Custom Data Conversion for SaskPower
(June 29, 2007/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, is providing a feasibility study and custom trial data conversion services for Saskatchewan Power (SaskPower). When complete, SaskPower will have the ability to access critical electrical data in a modern, fully supported software environment.
As part of the project, GeoDecisions is testing the feasibility of updating and converting SaskPower’s electrical data from unsupported graphic data system (GDS) files to supported and modern AutoCAD® files using G-Live, GeoDecisions’ highly specialized translation software. G-Live provides direct access to proprietary and unpublished data stored in GDS files.
During the conversion process, G-Live’s translator will read data from each of the distinct drawings in the GDS files, ensuring all data is properly converted while retaining the original state of the source files.
The trial data conversion process includes the following services: translating GDS drawings; applying attribute data to the translated drawings; performing quality control; ensuring software compatibility; and performing final modifications and delivery.
