Pietropola Appointed to Committee on Geographic Information Science and Applications

Anthony J. Pietropola(March 11, 2008/Harrisburg, Pa.) Anthony J. Pietropola was recently appointed to the Committee on Geographic Information Science and Applications on behalf of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Executive Committee. Pietropola’s term will begin on April 15, 2008, and run through April 14, 2011.

The TRB is a division of the National Research Council, a private, nonprofit institution that provides expertise in science and technology to the government, the public, and the scientific and engineering communities. With his appointment to the Committee on Geographic Information Science and Applications, Pietropola serves a significant role in facilitating the exchange of research and results among his colleagues, and he will work to advance Geographic Information Systems in Transportation (GIS-T) science, technology, and applications.

“I am honored to have been selected to serve on this committee,” Pietropola said. “I look forward to working together with all members to increase our capabilities in GIS-T science.”

Based in Harrisburg, Pa., Pietropola is a senior vice president with GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology industry specializing in geospatial solutions.
