Pollack Speaks at North America's SuperCorridor Coalition Conference
(June 8, 2009/Harrisburg, Pa.) North America's SuperCorridor Coalition (NASCO) invited Jon Pollack, a senior vice president with GeoDecisions, to speak at the organization's fifth annual conference held June 2-4, 2009, in Quebec, Canada. Pollack served as a panelist during a session titled "Next Generation Innovations in Technology, Security and Inland Ports."
More than 450 leaders in trade and transportation attended the annual NASCO Conference in the historic provincial capital city of host Province of Quebec. Leading figures in industry and government in North America outlined audacious, inspiring, but real-world visions to resolve the extraordinary challenges facing the transportation infrastructure of North America with leading edge technology applications and best practices in business, trade and public policies.
NASCO is a tri-national nonprofit dedicated to shepherding advances through public and private sector cooperation to produce the continent's leading multi-modal corridor transportation system through the heart of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
As part of his trip, Pollack also served as a panelist for a supplementary workshop titled "Facilitating Trade and Environmental Compliance Across North America." The workshop was sponsored by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, an international organization created under the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation to address regional environmental concerns, help prevent potential trade and environmental conflicts, and to promote the effective enforcement of environmental law. Pollack spoke on the topic of tracking and monitoring shipments of environmentally regulated substances.
GeoDecisions, an official member of NASCO, served as a core technology partner on a federally funded project to remotely track and manage cargo movements to serve businesses and enhance cargo security for governments. The three year project was completed on April 30, 2009.
