GeoDecisions to Enhance Commercial Vessel Visibility in IRRIS® Technology

(August 5, 2010/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, was awarded a task order to increase Commercial Vessel Visibility (CVV) for military freight in its patented IRRIS technology.

In accordance with the task order awarded by the U.S. Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency (SDDCTEA), GeoDecisions will enhance the existing IRRIS Maritime Domain Awareness capability by adding visibility of Department of Defense shipments across the ocean. The identified locations will be linked to manifest data that will greatly enhance the ability of the U.S. Transportation Command Deployment and Distribution Operations Center (DDOC) to manage and track ocean-going cargo.

Prior to this capability, the DDOC only had visibility of ocean-going vessels within approximately 200 miles from shore. Once complete, the CVV enhancement will also expand monitoring to include immediate alerting, in the event that a shipment deviates from its intended course.

GeoDecisions' experienced staff of professional consultants, analysts, and developers supports clients across the United States. Fundamental to the company's award-winning approach is the integration of spatial information to empower existing systems and processes. GeoDecisions' philosophy is based on an enterprisewide approach to the integration of diverse information technologies, data formats, and systems.

GeoDecisions is ISO 9001:2008 certified.
