Rapid Response System Named Best Public Service Innovation

(Feb. 19, 2010/Harrisburg, Pa.) The Rapid Response System, maintained by GeoDecisions, was named best Public Service Innovation at TechQuest PA's 18th Annual Technology Awards Gala. The award recognizes government programs, leadership activities, and processes that promote and utilize technology and innovation for the public good. The Rapid Response System is an alert notification system designed to deliver high-speed phone, e-mail, or text messages to customers of public and private utilities and municipalities. With its user-friendly, Web-based interface, the system has the capacity to deliver up to 120,000 phone calls per hour, in addition to providing high-speed e-mail and text messaging capabilities.

The awards program, held Feb. 12, recognized great technologies, companies, and leaders that are helping Pennsylvania excel in technology and innovation. A record 126 nominations were recognized, and more than 400 people attended the event.
