GeoDecisions Deploys Updated HPMS Console for WVDOT
(July 7, 2011/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, deployed an updated Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) console for West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT), Division of Highways. This WVDOT HPMS console application conforms to the HPMS 2010 Reassessment format for federal highway reporting.
The console provides WVDOT with a mechanism to access various data sources and make the necessary code conversions to prepare the HPMS output files as required by the Federal Highway Administration. It also provides an efficient method for validating the state collected data and comparing that data to previous submittals.
The GeoDecisions team worked closely with the WVDOT stakeholders to develop the application with similar functionality and interfaces that are available through the existing HPMS consoles deployed at the Oklahoma and Delaware Departments of Transportation (DOTs). This included updating the application to address WVDOT-specific functional, technical, data, and implementation requirements. GeoDecisions can leverage this rapid development for continued client satisfaction among other state DOTs.
“The HPMS console developed for us by GeoDecisions was truly a lifesaver and will save us a massive amount of work in the future,” said Janet Lemon, HPMS coordinator at WDOT. “In fact, due to this console being in place that utilizes our roadway inventory source tables within the Sequel Server Environment, we should be able to begin our process two to three months earlier next year and possibly submit a month prior to the deadline,” continued Lemon.
