December 20, 2006 – Enterprise Web Portal for ODOT

GeoDecisions completed its Geographical Resource Intranet Portal Version 3 (GRIPv3) project for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). GRIPv3 is the latest version of a Web-based application that enables users to view, query, map, and analyze a variety of Oklahoma’s enterprise transportation information.

December 20, 2006 – Image Log Viewer for NDDOT

GeoDecisions recently began a project to plan, design, develop, and implement a Web-based image log viewer for the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT). The viewer will enable NDDOT personnel to view images of North Dakota’s highway system and will contain street-level video and include an online “motion” picture of the highway.

December 20, 2006 – LEJIS Enters Phase II

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Regional Counter-Terrorism Task Force has retained GeoDecisions as project manager of an innovative, information-sharing network for the region’s public safety agencies. In Phase II, GeoDecisions is managing the development and implementation of the Law Enforcement Justice Information System (LEJIS) and the system integration team.

October 20, 2006 – LRS for ITD

The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) contracted with GeoDecisions to perform a needs assessment and develop a set of recommendations for the department’s business-focused Location Referencing System (LRS). The LRS will facilitate integration of disparate transportation business data to assist ITD with specific planning and operational processes.

October 20, 2006 – GIS for MCT

Madison County Transit (MCT), a member of the St. Louis Regional Bikeway Commission, selected GeoDecisions to help develop a Web-based GIS that will map the bicycle transportation network throughout Madison County. At the completion of the project, the public will be able to plan bike trips online, from viewing available bike paths, determining where to park in relation to the paths, and measuring the distance of proposed rides.

October 20, 2006 – ESRI ArcIMS and ArcSDE for Metro

GeoDecisions is installing and configuring an ESRI ArcIMS and ArcSDE infrastructure for Metro, a public transportation agency in the St. Louis metropolitan region that operates both light rail-transit and bus systems. At the completion of the project, the public will be able to create online origin-destination itinerary maps of multi-modal transit routes directly from its Web site.

October 20, 2006 – TIGER Web Implemented for FORECON

GeoDecisions has implemented a Web-based version of FORECON’S Timber, Inventory, Growth, Evaluation, and Reporting (TIGER) application. FORECON is a multi-disciplinary forestry and natural resources consulting firm. TIGER Web is one of the first solutions in the timber industry to offer owners, investors, and management specialists access to their own data through a secure, Web-based environment.

August 15, 2006 – On-Site at SJRWMD

GeoDecisions is working on-site at the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) in Palatka, Fla., to provide technical and GIS support for environmental monitoring, restoration, and management. Services include GIS data maintenance and mapping, geospatial and geostatistical analysis, GIS programming, and GIS/global positioning system (GPS) training.

August 15, 2006 – New Web Mapping Tool for Arch Coal

GeoDecisions developed a customized application for Arch Coal that gives employees of the second largest coal-producing company in the United States greater flexibility in creating custom maps of its resources. With a new mapping tool, users can open a map, zoom to the preferred area, and either create a PDF of the map or print the file. The application automatically generates a legend and title block with descriptive information for each of Arch Coal’s custom maps.

August 15, 2006 – GeoCAMS at the Johnson City PD

The Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) in Johnson City, Tenn., will implement the GeoDecisions Crime Analysis and Mapping System (GeoCAMS) to enhance communication, develop crime-fighting strategies and tactics, and manage the deployment of law enforcement resources and personnel. The application integrates information from records management systems and displays the data through custom generated reports.

May 12, 2006 – Data Management Customization

GeoDecisions is helping Waste Management, Inc. migrate data into the Web Environmental Management System (EMS) Manager. The customized application allows users to better manage data, documentation, audits, and corrective actions, in addition to assigning and tracking compliance tasks. The Web EMS will enable Waste Management to effectively manage its environmental programs.

May 12, 2006 – IRRIS Technology Deployed for VDH

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is deploying GeoDecisions’ patented IRRIS technology to better safeguard the health and welfare of the Commonwealth. Using this technology, VDH employees across the Commonwealth will be able to access, analyze, visualize, and share certain public health data in order to identify trends, track disease outbreaks and vaccines, and resolve public health threats. Since IRRIS is a flexible application, the system can support local health issues, as well as major regional, state, and national events.

May 12, 2006 – VDOT’s New SLD Process

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) selected GeoDecisions to upgrade its straight-line diagramming (SLD) process with a Web-based integrated route log application. When complete, the application will allow users to view and analyze business data while spatially referencing various roadway features. These include traffic counts, bridges, rail crossings, signals, and cultural features. It will also enable VDOT to select information about a route segment and display it in a straightforward, easy-to-interpret format.

March 10, 2006 – HPMS Review for Caltrans

GeoDecisions is helping the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) improve the quality and cost effectiveness of its annual Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) submittal process. GeoDecisions’ business process review will provide Caltrans with an assessment of its process for collecting, validating, and managing data related to non-state roads in California.

March 10, 2006 – GeoDecisions Launches GRIPv3

GeoDecisions was selected by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) to enhance the Geographical Resource Intranet Portal (GRIP) with more dynamic and feature-rich mapping capabilities. GeoDecisions initially worked with ODOT to design and implement GRIP, which enables users to view, query, map, and analyze a wide variety of enterprise transportation information. GRIP version three (GRIPv3) will feature a modularized design platform, providing a more flexible and maintainable application and enhanced visualization, layout, and analysis capabilities.

March 10, 2006 – Identifying Fire-Code Violations

GeoDecisions has customized its SCOUT™ Incident Command System for Code Consultants, Inc. (CCI), a fire protection engineering and life safety consulting firm. SCOUT technology automates the mapping, reporting, and communication processes related to fire-code violations within buildings.

March 10, 2006 – Floodplain Map Modernization

GeoDecisions is working with Gannett Fleming and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to modernize flood maps for three Wisconsin counties. The new digital maps will help the public determine their flood risks, enable government agencies to develop zoning regulations, and provide banks and insurance providers with up-to-date data to determine insurance and loan coverage.

January 9, 2006 – NHDOT Deploys Straight-Line Diagram (SLD)

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has deployed GeoDecisions’ Web-based SLD application to automate and integrate department records and analyze data more effectively. With the application, users can easily and intuitively view enterprise transportation data, such as roadway features, pavement and road conditions, traffic counts, and accident statistics, in a straight-line format.

January 9, 2006 – Web Site Enhancements for CSAWWA

The Chesapeake Section of the American Water Works Association (CSAWWA) has contracted with GeoDecisions to provide enhancements, updates, and maintenance to its Web site: www.csawwa.org. These enhancements will include improved online administrative features, interface redesign, and additional interactive functionality.

January 9, 2006 – Pennsylvania Communities use GIS

The SEDA-Council of Governments of Lewisburg, Pa., and GeoDecisions are helping Central Pennsylvania communities to better manage development activities, permitting requirements, and GIS data integration. With funding from an economic development grant, the organizations are offering complementary general GIS services and GeoPlan© permit tracking software to local governments in the area at “bundled-package” rates.

January 9, 2006 – New Phase for City of Newport News, Va.

GeoDecisions’ field data collection project for the city of Newport News will help officials prevent potential flooding and plan routine maintenance projects to ensure the health and safety of city residents. For this project, GeoDecisions will inspect approximately 3,000 manholes via global positioning systems (GPS) to create more accurate maps of the sanitary sewer lines. City officials will be able to access the maps quickly in the event of an emergency overflow or in response to service calls. GeoDecisions will also catalogue the stormwater structure (catch basin, manholes) of Newport News’ Stoney Run Basin to provide a more accurate map of the basin and its contents.

November 4, 2005 – Interactive Web Site for Charlotte, N.C.

GeoDecisions partnered with Gannett Fleming to develop an internal Web site for the city of Charlotte’s Department of Engineering and Property Management. The site helps officials detect construction conflicts related to the development of the South Corridor Light Rail Line, including issues related to various phases of sidewalk, street, and stormwater improvements.

November 4, 2005 – Monitoring Water Quality in Pennsylvania

GeoDecisions is developing a new application for the Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds & Rivers (POWR) that will improve the ability to access and collect water resource data. POWR oversees programs and technical activities for the Keystone Watershed Monitoring Network (KWMN), a consortium of stakeholders that promotes conservation through stream quality monitoring. With POWR’s Watersheds Data System Web portal, volunteer monitors can upload watershed data onto the site for public and private sector users to view, analyze, or download.

November 4, 2005 – Spatial Data Solutions for IOWA DOT

GeoDecisions’ Decision Support Environment project for the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is helping the department manage its transportation information. As part of this project, GeoDecisions will provide maintenance and enhancement support for a GeoData Library (GDL) and the Coordinated Transportation Analysis and Management System (CTAMS). The GDL houses the Iowa DOT enterprise transportation data, and CTAMS allows users to access the data in the GDL for viewing, reporting, decision-making support, and in-depth analysis.

November 4, 2005 – Data Conversion Services

GeoDecisions’ data conversion services for Farm & Home Publishers (FHP) will help the Iowa-based company expand the coverage area of the “Farm & Home County Plat & Directory.” FHP offers customized versions of its book in more than 500 counties in 11 Midwestern states. Most editions feature both plat maps (landowners) and directory maps (location of rural residents) of every township within a single county. GeoDecisions is converting the source data of new counties into a format suitable for the publication.

September 1, 2005 – Middletown Township, Pa., Emergency Management

GeoDecisions is working with the Middletown Township fire marshal to develop a GIS application that will help protect the community during a hazardous liquid spill. The emergency management tool, incorporating ESRI technology, will be able to quickly identify potential flow paths and perform stormwater system analysis on the township’s heavily traveled roadways.

September 1, 2005 – City of Clifton, N.J., Sign and Signal Inventory and Management System (SSMS)

GeoDecisions developed an asset inventory and implemented its SSMS software to help the city of Clifton better manage its assets and develop reports and replacement schedules. GeoDecisions and its mobile mapping partner inventoried 22,625 city-maintained traffic signs and signals and incorporated the information into a geodatabase, which includes an image and about 25 different characteristics for each asset.

September 1, 2005 – RNS Data Model Review

GeoDecisions provided the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) with a data model review for its Roadway Network System (RNS) project. VDOT’s RNS project involves migrating its legacy mainframe highway inventory application into a more modern, spatially enabled environment.

September 1, 2005 – GeoDecisions, DPRA, Inc. Collaboration

GeoDecisions and DPRA announced that they will partner on select defense and homeland security projects to provide the most advanced solutions in asset allocation, real-time tracking, and geographic displays. The new partnership will leverage GeoDecisions’ IRRIS technology with DPRA’s experience in asset planning, movement planning, and transportation analysis.

August 15, 2005 – Data Intelligence Sharing System for SEPR-CTTF

GeoDecisions’ Information Network For Online Resource Mapping (INFORM) application designed for the Delaware Department of Transportation was awarded a Special Achievement in GIS Award (SAG) at the 2005 ESRI International User Conference in July.

July 1, 2005 – Data Intelligence Sharing System for SEPR-CTTF

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Regional Counter-Terrorism Task Force (SEPR-CTTF) has contracted GeoDecisions to design an innovative, real-time communications strategy for the proposed Justice Information System (JIS). When complete, the JIS project will create links between local, state, and federal law enforcement data systems.

July 1, 2005 – New IRRIS Technology

The first installation of IRRIS technology 6.0 was completed for the Military’s Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency during the week of April 1, 2005. IRRIS technology 6.0 is a complete rewrite, with improved mapping, reporting, and querying capabilities.

July 1, 2005 – New GIS Application for Stafford County, Va.

GeoDecisions was awarded a contract to implement a new GIS in Stafford County, which will help county officials evaluate assets and infrastructure for future development. GeoDecisions is designing a geodatabase that will serve as a repository for county information, such as parcel, road, zoning, building, census, and subdivision information.

July 1, 2005 – Phase II of Mississippi SAMS Project

GeoDecisions has been contracted by the Mississippi Department of Transportation to complete Phase II work on the Safety Analysis Management System (SAMS). Phase II will include high-level and detailed design, development, testing, deployment, and training activities. The SAMS application will provide powerful crash analysis tools to support the elimination of hazardous conditions throughout Mississippi’s transportation networks.

July 1, 2005 – CRGIS Enhancements

GeoDecisions first began collaborating with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Bureau of Environmental Quality and Bureau of Planning & Research and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) on GIS initiatives in 2000. This team recently worked together to develop the Cultural Resources GIS (CRGIS) application, a Web-based portal to store and share PHMC’s mass amounts of archaeological and historic data.

April 25, 2005 – Customized GIS for Upper Allen Township

GeoDecisions built two customized GIS applications for Upper Allen Township, Pa. The customer notification application enables the township to prepare automated form letters to inform residents about various events, meetings, or emergencies. For example, in an evacuation situation, a user would have the information necessary to identify and contact affected parties.

April 25, 2005 – New Data Model for VDOT

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) gathered requirements and analyzed its business needs, data systems, and general architecture to develop a new enterprise data model to replace its aging system. GeoDecisions is now working with VDOT to provide a technical review and validation of the proposed data model. In addition, GeoDecisions will investigate the model’s benefits and shortcomings with respect to VDOT’s vision for its future enterprise architecture.

April 25, 2005 – IRRIS® Route Adherence Test

SDDC successfully completed a test of the IRRIS technology route adherence capability. Boyle Transport operators used the IRRIS routing system and geo-fencing capabilities to create routes for shipments, assign shipments to those routes, and monitor deviations and alerts through IRRIS.

February 25, 2005 – Non-Point Source Pollution Modeling

GeoDecisions recently completed an assessment for the Spring Creek Watershed in central Pennsylvania by running the ArcView™ Generalized Watershed Loading Function model. This GIS-based model is being used by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to establish total maximum daily loads for watersheds with impaired streams.

February 25, 2005 – Programming for Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin Corp. selected GeoDecisions to provide programming services to the Pennsylvania State Police, which includes the automation of several GIS utilities related to the capture and integration of GDT/TeleAtlas spatial data within the Criminal Investigative Traffic Safety Incident Information Management System (IIMS).

February 25, 2005 – FDOT Develops Transit Planning Software

GeoDecisions, the University of South Florida, and the Florida Department of Transportation Public Transit Office have developed the Transit Boardings Estimation and Simulation Tool (T-BEST Arc). T-BEST Arc is an ArcGIS™-based software program that provides comprehensive transit system analysis and ridership forecasting.

February 25, 2005 – GeoDecisions Kicks off LoIS

In January, GeoDecisions launched the Location Information System (LoIS) project with the Nevada DOT (NDOT). GeoDecisions will deliver a Web-enabled, GIS application that allows users to update NDOT Geodesy Section’s tool for entering and maintaining survey point information. It also provides a Web-based query and mapping tool, allowing NDOT users and the public to access the survey data.

February 25, 2005 – NDOR Project Awarded

GeoDecisions was recently awarded a new project with the Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR). The objective of the project is to plan and create a street centerline and address database that will allow NDOR to effectively share data with local agencies in Nebraska.

December 29, 2004 – Camden Police Ultilize GeoCAMS™ Web

The city of Camden, N.J., Police Department now uses the GeoDecisions® Crime Analysis and Mapping System™ (GeoCAMS) Web to drive decision making and fight crime in Camden. The GeoCAMS Web application provides crime analysts and patrol commanders with timely computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and record management system (RMS) information.

December 29, 2004 – GIS Services for Forecon, Inc.

GeoDecisions has entered into a GIS services contract with Forecon, Inc., a forestry and natural resource consulting firm with offices in New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. GeoDecisions and Forecon are now moving forward with phase one of the project, the development of an ESRI ArcSDE/Microsoft SQL Server enterprise geodatabase and the subsequent migration of all existing feature and attribute data to the new geodatabase.

December 29, 2004 – VTIP is put into Operation

GeoDecisions and The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) successfully delivered the pilot phase of the Virginia Transport Information Portal (VTIP) project. VTIP provides a near real-time view of traffic incidents in the Staunton, Salem, and Bristol Districts.

November 5, 2004 – NJ Transit Bus Stop Application

GeoDecisions has initiated work with New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit) to enhance and update the Bus Stop/Pattern Data Processing application that GeoDecisions completed earlier this year. This application allows users to calculate the location of bus stops along bus patterns.

November 5, 2004 – HPMS Study

The FHWA has chosen the team of GeoDecisions and Parsons-Brinckerhoff to define the requirements for developing a GIS-enabled application for viewing and analyzing HPMS data received from each state DOT. As part of the study, the team will be contacting various states, as directed by FHWA, to gather input on improving the HPMS analysis and submittal process.

November 5, 2004 – Westmoreland Revamps Parcel Editing

GeoDecisions has worked with Westmoreland County since 1996 on various projects. The latest project includes migrating the existing data and tools to an ArcSDE™/SQL Server geodatabase environment using NovaLIS Technologies® Parcel Editor. Along with this system upgrade to the latest ESRI technologies, GeoDecisions is rectifying/re-digitizing the County parcels to newly acquired orthophotography.

November 5, 2004 – Enhancing SDDC’s IRRIS® Technology

GeoDecisions has been awarded a contract to enhance the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command’s (SDDC’s) version of IRRIS by improving worldwide geographic information system (GIS) and austere environment capabilities.

August 25, 2004 – GeoDecisions Provides Services To Rutgers University

Rutgers University has hired GeoDecisions to provide data conversion services. This project will include hard copy parcel data assembly and conversion, as well as COGO implementation for the University’s many campuses throughout New Jersey.

August 25, 2004 – VDOT Improves Data Efficiency With GEARS™

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has initiated the Virginia Transport Information Portal (VTIP) project to facilitate access to its current roadway incident information. The goal of VTIP is to provide a near real-time view of traffic incidents and other intelligent transportation information in the Staunton, Salem, and Bristol Districts.

August 25, 2004 – DelDOT Implements INFORM

GeoDecisions recently worked with the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) to deploy version 1.0 of the Information Network For Online Resource Mapping (INFORM). INFORM is a GIS-enabled intranet portal that provides DelDOT employees with enterprise transportation data using a quick, efficient, and user-friendly interface.

August 25, 2004 – PENNDOT Enhances CRGIS Application

This month, GeoDecisions began enhancing the Cultural Resources GIS (CRGIS) application to include additional customized reporting, a customer feedback module, and a query-tracking component. CRGIS, developed in 2000, is a collaborative effort between PENNDOT’s Bureau of Environmental Quality and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

August 25, 2004 – Bentley Systems and GeoDecisions Team for NDOT Project

GeoDecisions, as a subcontractor to Bentley Systems, Inc., was selected by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to perform Phase III of the Integrated Right-of-Way Information Network (IRWIN) project. The project will automate the processes of the engineering, utilities, and permitting sections of the right-of-way division.

August 25, 2004 – Spatial Data Development In Wilmington, Del.

The City of Wilmington, Del., engaged GeoDecisions for a rapid spatial data development project. The City currently maintains hardcopy parcel and building footprint map sheets, which they would like converted into an electronic format.

July 23, 2004 – Pennsylvania DEP Selects GeoDecisions

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) selected GeoDecisions to work on the Pennsylvania Incident Response System (PAIRS) with DEP staff. PAIRS is a multi-agency application for communication and tracking of routine and emergency incidents in Pennsylvania. Read more...

June 25, 2004 – City of Lebanon, Pa., Implements GIS

The City of Lebanon has undertaken a GIS conversion and implementation project. GeoDecisions is converting all of the hard copy water, sewer, and stormwater information from hard copy sources to GIS using ESRI’s ArcGIS™.

June 25, 2004 – GIS Support for Cameron County, Pa.

GeoDecisions has been contracted by Cameron County, Pa., to develop a zoning layer and create a GIS data repository. In addition, CameronView, designed by GeoDecisions, will be updated to enhance functionality and integrate it with the County’s Manatron computer-aided mass appraisal system.

June 25, 2004 – City of Newport News , Va.: Sanitary Sewer Mapping

GeoDecisions is working with the City of Newport News to survey its sanitary sewer system for the development of GIS layers. The City will use the GIS data for modeling, maintenance, asset management, and cartographic purposes.

June 25, 2004 – GIS for Avis® and Budget® Rent-a-Car

GeoDecisions has recently completed work with Cendant Car Rental Group, Inc. This work involved assisting its technical staff in the development of an enterprise GIS to support its AVIS and Budget Rent-a-Car operations.

June 25, 2004 – SDDC Contract for IRRIS™

GeoDecisions has been awarded a three-year contract with the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC). GeoDecisions will provide SDDC with IT/GIS services. A major focus of this contract is the continual enhancement of the IRRIS Web application.

June 25, 2004 – GeoDecisions Supports PAIRS for Homeland Security

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has hired GeoDecisions to work jointly on-site with its staff to enhance and support the Pennsylvania Incident Response System (PAIRS) application. PAIRS is a multi-agency application for communication and tracking of routine and emergency incidents in Pennsylvania.

April 15, 2004 – Sidewalk Inventory Database for DelDOT

GeoDecisions is working with the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) to create a sidewalk inventory database as part of the state’s asset management system. The resulting database will be accessible in DelDOT’s GIS data Information Network For Online Resource Mapping (INFORM) portal.

April 15, 2004 – Development of DDOT Database

GeoImaging Consulting, Inc. of Washington, D.C., subcontracted with GeoDecisions to provide Oracle and ArcObjects staffing for a Streets Spatial Database project for the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT).

April 15, 2004 – GIS Plans for Middletown Township

GeoDecisions is entering into its fourth year of a highly successful consulting relationship with Middletown Township, Bucks County, Pa. Strategic plans for 2004 concentrate on strengthening the integration of Middletown’s GIS, license and inspection, and police departments.

April 15, 2004 – Web-Enabled GeoCAMS in Camden, NJ

GeoDecisions has recently kicked off the City of Camden Police Department GeoDecisions Crime Analysis and Mapping System (GeoCAMS) Web implementation project. This project will allow department personnel to use the Web-enabled GeoCAMS using ArcIMS and the .NET framework for real-time incident analysis and mapping.

April 15, 2004 – Navy's New Tracking Tool

GeoDecisions recently developed a tool for the Naval Supply System Command to visualize and track Navy aircraft engines. The tracking system was created using the Intelligent Road/Rail Information System (IRRIS) technology, and data provided by the United States Transportation Command’s Global Transportation Network (GTN) and Commander, Naval Air Systems Command’s Aircraft Engine Management System (AEMS).

February 2004 – SAMS Project Announced

GeoDecisions is pleased to announce that it has been selected to provide analysis and requirements definition services for a Safety Analysis Management System (SAMS) for the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

February 2004 – GeoDecisions Joins the CRIS Team

GeoDecisions is very excited to be joining the IBM team that is planning, designing, developing, and implementing the Crash Records Information System (CRIS) for the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Department of Transportation. February 2004 – Philadelphia Pre-qualifies GeoDecisions

October 2003 – Integrating Augusta’s GIS

GeoDecisions is providing the Augusta Public Works and Engineering Department in Georgia with an inventory of the potential brownfield sites by identifying unutilized or underutilized development locations and integrating them with Augusta’s GIS. Users will be able to view brownfield locations across the City along with various attributes including environmental impacts.

September 16, 2003 – Geographic Information Management System (GIMS) Redesign for the Iowa Department of Transportation

The GeoDecisions Team was selected by the Iowa DOT to redesign its Geographic Information Management System (GIMS). GeoDecisions is a subcontractor to Bentley Systems for this effort.

September 2, 2003 – Intranet Portal for the Delaware Department of Transportation

GeoDecisions is pleased to have been selected by Delaware DOT (DelDOT) to develop functional requirements and an implementation plan for a GIS intranet portal. The Portal will be created over a three- to four-year time period and will provide an enterprise view of the DOT's transportation, environmental, and asset information.

July 14, 2003 – Tri-County Regional Planning Commission GIS Study

GeoDecisions was awarded a contract for an assessment study with the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission to provide some retrospective on accomplishments, lessons learned, new developments, where GIS is heading, and to demonstrate how GIS has complemented TCRPC's mission, goals, and objectives. April 15, 2003 – GeoDecisions to Build Abandoned Underground Mine (AUM) System for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources

GeoDecisions was awarded a contract with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to enhance existing GIS-based Abandoned Underground Mine (AUM) analysis and viewing tools. An automation process is underway to convert existing, scanned records relating to AUM sites. Mine extents, entrances, and related attribute data are being made GIS-accessible for analysis with related data such as hydrography, geology, and soils.

March 17, 2003 – United States Attorney's Office Selects GeoDecisions to Build Regional Web-Deployed Crime Analysis System

GeoDecisions has been selected to develop a prototype, Web-deployed crime analysis and mapping system for the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) and the Middle Atlantic Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN). Supporting President Bush's Safe Neighborhoods Initiative, this prototype application will initially serve law enforcement departments within the USAO's Eastern District of Pennsylvania, but potentially represents a model for other districts in the mid-Atlantic region.

March 14, 2003 – Ohio Department of Natural Resources AUM

GeoDecisions has won the Phase I contract with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in Columbus to support development of a GIS-Enhanced Abandoned Underground Mines (AUM) system. The application will include showing locations of mine shafts, overburden depth, and profiles.

June 10-12, 2002 – GeoDecisions Receives Award at GeoSpatial World 2002

Marc Barthello, of the Military Traffic Management Command Transportation Engineering Agency (MTMCTEA), and Jonathan Pollack, vice president of advanced technologies for GeoDecisions, were recently honored at the international Awards for Cartographic Excellence at GeoSpatial World 2002. Barthello and Pollack took first place in Category III, "Dynamic Interactive Presentations," for their work on the Intelligent Road/Rail Information Server (IRRIS). The award recognizes professional excellence in design, technique, aesthetics, innovation, communication, and presentation.

The tragic events of September 11 proved the need for a single application for secure access to critical infrastructure data. This feature article, titled "Tech Tools for Transportation," appears in the May 22, 2002, issue of Homeland Defense Journal, showcases how the Intelligent Road/Rail Information Server (IRRIS) can be used to analyze infrastructure readiness from forts to ports in the event of a national emergency.

May 22, 2002 – Military SEV System

GeoDecisions has been awarded an exciting project to support Programs for National and Homeland Defense. During this project GeoDecisions will enhance its innovative IRRIS product by integrating tracking of DoD Security Escort Vehicles (SEV). GeoDecisions will also incorporate homeland defense mapping layers, such as nuclear plants, dams, and border crossings into IRRIS.

May 10, 2002 – Nevada Open End Contract

GeoDecisions, as a subconsultant to CSC (Computer Science Corporation), has won an open-end Information Technology contract in the State of Nevada.

April 18, 2002 – Military DTRA Project

GeoDecisions has won a critical project to support Defense Threat Reductions Agency (DTRA) in its mission and provide certain hazard assessment and analysis tool capabilities in GeoDecisions' Intelligent Road & Rail Information Server (IRRIS). In this project, GeoDecisions will tightly fuse IRRIS with DTRA's Consequence Assessment Tool Set (CATS). CATS is a map-based information management tool for dealing with natural disasters, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and incidents associated with industrial accidents, terrorism and acts of war.

April 18, 2002 – Military IRRIS Supplement

GeoDecisions has been awarded a key project to continue to enhance its groundbreaking Intelligent Road & Rail Information Server (IRRIS), and introduce the next generation of features into IRRIS. These new features, which will support MTMCTEA in its mission to improve the global deployability of U.S. Armed Forces, include updated infrastructure map layers, updated installations data, and code and process improvements.

April 15, 2002 – PENNDOT Legacy System Information Study

GeoDecisions, as a subconsultant to KPMG, won the Legacy System Information Study for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The overall project will result in the development of a legacy system integration strategy for the Department. GeoDecisions will have a part in tasks including team training, asset management, application architecture, and implementation assessment.

April 10, 2002 – MDSHA Transportation Spatial Database Design

The Maryland State Highway administration selected the Computer Sciences Corporation Team, including GeoDecisions, to investigate and design a Transportation Spatial database. GeoDecisions is responsible for the detail database design.

April 2002 – Water & Wastewater Systems Rise to a New Level with ArcGIS and Geodatabase

April 2002 – Pawnshop Information Feasibility Study

The Philadelphia Police Department has selected GeoDecisions to conduct a feasibility study for a Citywide pawnshop information system. This project will study the data collection, analysis and notification of illegal transactions of over 50 pawn brokers throughout the city.

March 25, 2002 – Nebraska DOR HLA System Design

GeoDecisions was awarded a contract with the Nebraska Department of Roads to prepare a detail requirements definition, prototype, and technical design for a Hazardous Location Analysis (HLA) system.

March 24, 2002 – OKDOT GRIP Project Wins GeoSpatial Innovation Award

The Oklahoma DOT Geographical Resource Intranet Portal (GRIP) application was honored at the recent GIS-T conference in Atlanta by winning Intergraph’s first annual GeoSpatial Innovation Award for transportation. This award recognizes the innovative use of technology to effectively address transportation issues. The GRIP application is providing OKDOT users with easy access to data so that better decisions can be made to improve Oklahoma’s transportation network. January 7, 2002 – GIS Visionary Workshop at the Ohio Department of Transportation

GeoDecisions staff conducted a GIS Visionary Workshop at the Ohio Department of Transportation for over 30 management personnel. MONTPELIER, VERMONT: Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) chose GeoDecisions to develop their electronic straight-line diagramming project. We are eager about the opportunity to work with Vermont AOT and our subcontractor, ESRI, as we develop this application.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA: After successfully completing Year 1 of the Oklahoma DOT (OKDOT) Geographical Resource Intranet Portal (GRIP) project, OKDOT extended our contract so work can begin on the Year 2 project objectives. The purpose of the GRIP is to provide consistent viewing, reporting, and analysis of OKDOT's business data, resulting in more informed decision making. As part of this contract, we will be developing an application that supports the annual Highway Performance Monitoring System submittal to the Federal Highway Administration. In addition, GeoDecisions will also be working with OKDOT to revise its GIS business operations by moving to Intergraph's GeoMedia Pro and Oracle Spatial.

January 2002 – Local Government Highlights

HANOVER COUNTY, VIRGINIA, contracted GeoDecisions to migrate the existing MapObjects IMS Web service to ArcIMS and to provide new functionality and connectivity to ArcSDE.

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, has selected GeoDecisions to build a pilot Web service connected to their 280,000 parcel records using ArcIMS software.

The Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) recently presented the national award for outstanding achievement in metropolitan transportation planning to the Johnson City, Tennessee, Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO). October 2001 – Kids' Care Connections Child Care and Transportation Map

GeoDecisions, a division of Gannett Fleming, and the Delaware Valley Child Care Council (DVCCC) developed a GIS project that maps public transit routes and childcare center locations in the five-county Philadelphia region under a grant provided by a private foundation. The poster will be the first step in a strategy to provide better, more timely information to welfare caseworkers, allowing them to advise mothers seeking child care providers on the way or within proximity of employment centers in the region. October 2001 – Project Nominated for 2001 Virginia Governor's Technology Award

The City of Staunton, VA, has been nominated for the 2001 Governor's Technology Award for their GIS-based Web site developed with the assistance of GeoDecisions' Newport News office. The award honors outstanding achievements and recognizes successful programs and projects throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. The winners will be announced at the Third Annual Commonwealth of Virginia Information Technology Symposium. For $50,000, the Newport News team provided the City of Staunton an innovative Web site with advanced query functions, technical support, training, and database integration.

October 2001 – University City District Unveils New Technology to Keep Area Safe

The University City District in Philadelphia unveiled their new Crime Analysis and mapping system that assists multi-jurisdictional crime analysis, mapping, and deployment.
