GeoDecisions recently completed a straight line diagramming (SLD) project for the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT). The new SLD application provides MaineDOT with a custom toolset for obtaining relevant information about selected route segments and displaying them in unique, easy-to-interpret formats.
June 20, 2008 – GIS Services for California
GeoDecisions was recently granted a five-year, open-end contract by the state of California. Through the California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS), GeoDecisions has the opportunity to perform GIS services for approximately 30 California agencies and bureaus in a variety of assignments.
June 20, 2008 – Sharing Important Forestry Information
GeoDecisions was recently contracted to develop, implement, and host a Web site for FORECON EcoMarket Solutions, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of FORECON, Inc. The Web site is designed to help clients navigate through the ever-changing atmosphere of the forestry carbon market, including asset management, registration and trading, and analysis services.
June 20, 2008 – Data Collection and Sewer Mapping for Mon Valley
GeoDecisions was tasked by the Mon Valley Sewage Authority (MVSA) to develop an accurate map and database of all MVSA facilities. The project included survey-grade GPS data collection of all manholes and catch basins within the MVSA drainage basin to comply with federal and state regulations. After collecting the necessary data, system data and spatial attributes were then added to a GIS, enabling map-based queries to be performed using specific system criteria.April 15, 2008 – Tax Parcel Portal for Westmoreland County
Westmoreland County, Pa., partnered with GeoDecisions to provide residents with cutting-edge technology and improved access to public information. Using Web-based technology, residents, area businesses, and county employees can search, display, and print county data related to tax parcels.
April 15, 2008 – VTrans Application Enhancements
GeoDecisions recently began an enhancement phase for the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) Integrated RouteLog Application (IRA). The project will add new functionality and provide integration with other VTrans systems and applications. IRA is a Straight Line Diagram solution that supports viewing and analysis of the agency’s critical business data.
April 15, 2008 – Solutions for Southwestern Electric
GeoDecisions has been contracted by Southwestern Electric Cooperative, Inc. of Illinois to provide a variety of geospatial services, including data updates and boundary placement. A significant feature of this project includes a comprehensive review of the electric direction of flow and connectivity to improve the safety of the cooperative’s linemen.
February 15, 2008 – Efficient Pavement Marking for KDOT
GeoDecisions will plan, design, develop, and implement a Web-based Pavement Marking Data Maintenance Application (PMDMA) for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). The completed Web application will make pavement marking data easily maintainable by replacing a manual process for tracking pavement markings. For example, paint striping information can be accurately entered, tracked, and edited, and simple queries will be established in the PMDMA so that specific projects can be located and updated in the database.December 14, 2007 – Keeping Safe with SafeCity™
The newly redesigned SafeCity Web site empowers government agencies, law enforcement, and the public with information about criminal and incident activity in the St. Louis, Mo., area. The Metropolitan Police Department in St. Louis worked with GeoDecisions to create an updated version of its publicly accessible, incident-mapping Web site.
December 14, 2007 – GIS-Enabled Portal and SLD for WVDOT
The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) contracted GeoDecisions to develop a GIS-enabled Web portal framework and Straight Line Diagram (SLD) application. The portal will feature a map interface that displays roadway related infrastructure and business-unit data. The SLD system will be the first application integrated into the portal when the framework is completed to allow users to query and view traffic volumes, roadway geometrics, speed limits, bridges, and pavement conditions.October 19, 2007 – DVRPC Partnership
The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), Division of Technical Services, selected GeoDecisions to assist with developing and implementing a multi-jurisdiction, linear-referenced road centerline file, as well as several Web-based geospatial applications.
October 19, 2007 – New Web Site For California DOR
GeoDecisions will partner with NaviSite®, a hosting service and content delivery firm, to create a recycling Web portal for the California Division of Recycling (DOR). When complete, the spatially enabled Web portal will provide a simple interface that will allow for easier sharing and distributing of recycling information to the public. In addition, the portal will provide news updates and helpful hints on how to live a more ‘green’ lifestyle.
October 19, 2007 – Food Safety Site
GeoDecisions teamed with IDSN and other partners to form the Trace, Track, and Authenticate Systems Coalition Web site. The membership-based site was designed to assist the nation’s agriculture, food manufactures, and other stakeholders in the food supply chain to adhere to current bioterrorism legislation and comply with private sector and government agency standards, including food industry certifications and documentations.
October 19, 2007 – New GIS Layer for Erie County
GeoDecisions will develop a tax parcel-based land use GIS layer for Erie County, Pa. The land use delineation approach combines existing hydrology layers and assessment data with the county tax parcel base. Aerial photography is then used to delineate land use and land cover for each municipality in Erie County. The resulting GIS data will allow decision makers to determine the conservation or development potential of each property in the county.
October 19, 2007 – NDDOT Video Log
The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and GeoDecisions deployed a spatial data portal and Video Log Viewer to improve enterprise transportation information sharing and integration. The Web-enabled Video Log Viewer has enhanced the functionality of NDDOT’s existing Image Log desktop application with new features, such as an integrated map interface and movie export. It was also designed as the foundation for NDDOT’s Online Roadway Analysis and Mapping Portal (ON-RAMP).
August 3, 2007 – Custom Data Conversion
GeoDecisions is providing a feasibility study and custom trial data conversion services for Saskatchewan Power (SaskPower) that will enable users to view electrical data in a supported soft ware environment. The project involves testing the feasibility of updating and converting SaskPower’s electrical data from graphic data system (GDS) files to AutoCAD® files using G-Live. As GeoDecisions’ specialized translation soft ware, G-Live ensures all data is properly converted.
August 3, 2007 – South Park Township Technology Upgrade
GeoDecisions is working with South Park Township in Allegheny County, Pa., to upgrade its technology infrastructure with GeoPlan©. This geospatial-based asset management system will assist the township with property management, permitting, code enforcement, zoning, and sanitary sewer maintenance, enabling it to realize greater efficiencies and provide better community services.
April 13, 2007 – Water Sustainability Planner
GeoDecisions and Gannett Fleming teamed with the Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI) to develop a Web-based interactive water sustainability planner – www.gemi.org/waterplanner. Through this new site, GEMI’s company members and other professionals who monitor water usage can set sustainability goals, benchmark progress, and effectively communicate plans to the public.
April 13, 2007 – Setting the Course with ITS
GeoDecisions worked with the PennDOT Bureau of Highway Safety and Traffic Engineering (BHSTE) to develop a statewide strategy for Traffic Management Centers (TMCs). The strategy was approved by PennDOT in September 2006. The strategy determined how existing district TMCs, proposed 24/7 Regional TMCs (RTMCs), and a proposed 24/7 Statewide TMC (STMC) will operate throughout the Commonwealth to achieve a 24/7 statewide operational environment that effectively addresses the needs of Pennsylvania’s urban and rural transportation networks.
April 13, 2007 – GeoCAMS® at UPenn
Since 2002, the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), in partnership with GeoDecisions and the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD), has utilized the GeoDecisions Crime Analysis and Mapping System® (GeoCAMS). The application provides daily downloads of crime data from the PPD, which is used to produce near-real-time crime maps for analysis and strategic deployment of uniformed police, security personnel, and camera patrols by dispatchers.
February 16, 2007 – Safer Highways in Delaware
The Delaware Office of Highway Safety contracted with GeoDecisions to develop and implement a Web-based information management system. The completed application will provide quick and efficient access to highway incident data that will help officials make more informed decisions about preventing and responding to incidents and events that impact public safety.
February 16, 2007 – A Monumental Achievement for NDOT
Working with GeoDecisions, the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) migrated an internal desktop system that indexes and retrieves records on survey monuments to a GIS-enabled Web application. The Location Information System (LoIS) Web application enables NDOT staff, private surveyors, and the public to access NDOT’s expanding database of more than 41,000 survey points across the state.
February 16, 2007 – Partnership with Daffron & Associates, Inc.
GeoDecisions teamed with Bowling Green, Mo.,-based Daffron to provide rural electric cooperatives the ability to better manage their data. Daffron offers solutions specifically designed for utilities, including integrated consumer information, materials, financial management, e-business, and work order automation software. GeoDecisions complements Daffron’s services by providing utility mapping services and GIS.
February 16, 2007 – Contract with New York City
GeoDecisions was granted two five-year, open-end contracts by the City of New York Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications. Through the Geographic Information Technologies and Services/Citywide Class 1 and Class 2 contracts, GeoDecisions has the opportunity to perform geographic information system (GIS) services for approximately 30 New York City agencies and bureaus in a variety of assignments.
