GIS Needs Assessment

Client: Easton Suburban Water Authority

GeoDecisions developed a GIS plan to guide the GIS efforts of the Easton Suburban Water Authority (EWSA) for the next several years. The plan process included a review of relevant ESWA computer systems, identification of user needs, and preparation of the Needs Assessment document. Identification of user needs began with a GIS Visionary Workshop to determine a GIS vision, and strategic goals. On-site interviews with ESWA staff helped to determine the needs for GIS, identify possible priority applications, and yield key observations that relate to making GIS successful. The Needs Assessment report presented recommended modular priority applications and actions, estimates of developmental and maintenance cost and effort, schedules, and organizational issues and solutions.
