Statewide ITS Strategic Plan

As part of a five-year open-end agreement, we developed the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT's) Statewide ITS Strategic Plan for the deployment of advanced technology transportation systems throughout the Commonwealth. At the outset of this effort, we developed the vision and goals for the PennDOT ITS Program through a series of stakeholder workshops. We documented the existing ITS working environment and conducted a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analysis. The Strategic Plan led to individual action projects specifically focused on the recommended strategies. The plan also includes strategies for mainstreaming ITS into the everyday business practices of the DOT.
