Regional Road Centerline and GIS Web Applications

Client: Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) initiated a project with GeoDecisions to develop a regional, linearly referenced, addressable road centerline database and associated Web-based GIS applications. Each DVRPC partner agency is a stakeholder in this project and will benefit through the regional transportation network continuity that the project will provide.

A common, seamless, and shared database of road centerlines will promote coordinated planning analysis, decision-making, and emergency response capabilities. A unifying linear referencing system (LRS) will allow multiple government agencies, who locate transportation events in different ways, to view data in a common spatial framework.
