Working with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, GeoDecisions developed a Rat Information Portal (RIP) that enhances the reach of the city's Pest Control Services (PCS) program by putting more information in the hands of the public.

The portal uses map-based tools to help residents and city managers know where rats have been found. In addition, RIP includes supporting documentation on understanding how to manage the presence of rats in the city. PCS uses the portal to respond to public questions and concerns and prepare maps of affected areas for distribution at community meetings. The site is available at www.nyc.gov/rats.
