WebMetrics

GeoDecisions' WebMetrics is a Web-based tool designed to monitor an organization's environmental performance through a systematic and efficient approach. The program provides a portal for acquiring and maintaining vital information utilized by decision makers with appropriate security clearances at various levels of an organization.

WebMetrics is designed to allow organizations to:

• Enter, track, graph, and report environmental performance metrics through the Web
• Report environmental incidents, such as spills or notice of violations, immediately to key organizational personnel.

Fully customizable, WebMetrics’ program features, such as performance evaluating, metrics recording, and incident reporting and managing, are tailored to meet each client’s specific needs. Users may select their own survey questions and metrics to track and can establish their own normalization variables to allow for an “apples-to-apples” comparison between facilities. The program is easy to navigate and utilizes an intuitive approach to improving data integrity.

In addition, GeoDecisions can either host this application through a secure Web site with a unique URL, or deliver the application to our clients to host internally.

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is the world's largest pork processor and hog producer, with revenues approaching $12 billion annually. GeoDecisions developed a WebMetrics application to track Smithfield defined metrics on a monthly basis and generate graphs by facility, by subsidiary, and by company. A metrics form was developed using the Smithfield preferred metrics, such as water and energy (gas, electric, and oil) usage. The metrics also include desired safety information.

The WebMetrics application developed by GeoDecisions allows Smithfield facility, subsidiary, and corporate staff to check how their operations are performing against each other in real time. This allows for cost and resource benefits. Additionally, the annual reports that are generated from the system are completed in a matter of minutes, instead of the four weeks previously required to assemble the information.
