Hey! I’m Kristin Ditterline and I have been with GeoDecisions since 2010, based out of Camp Hill, PA. Since I began working for the company, I have transitioned from an internship opportunity into a GIS Analyst role for the past five years, with a primary focus on local government and transportation sectors.
I graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in geography, where I chose to concentrate my schoolwork on sustainability, environment, and social justice issues. I volunteered and interned for various organizations involved with clean water issues, which kept me busy during the long, cold winters. That is, when I wasn’t out hitting the slopes on my snowboard, or taking in a Cuse basketball game (Go Cuse!). I then received a master’s degree in geography and urban studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. At Temple, I concentrated on honing my GIS skills and started my internship with GeoDecisions.
Not Just Geography
Living in the woods in Central Pennsylvania provides my family with many opportunities to explore and enjoy the outdoors regularly. Along with a large garden, we recently expanded our animal family with a few chickens, which keep both my husband and I and our dogs entertained. Weekends or summer nights aren’t complete unless my husband and I have taken a hike through our woods with our two dogs. While fostering dogs used to be our main mission, we now give back to our favorite animal rescue by organizing donation drives and transporting dogs to their newly adopted homes.
