Smith provides to his clients and the industry, GeoDecisions’ parent company, Gannett Fleming, named him a senior associate of the firm. With more than 20 years of experience, Smith serves as a vice president, the director of commercial solutions, and the Delaware office principal with GeoDecisions, an information technology (IT) company specializing in geospatial solutions.
Smith is responsible for directing software development and strategic business initiatives, along with geographic information system (GIS)-specific projects. He primarily focuses on the development of business solutions that use spatial data and processing to solve complex business challenges.
Smith has become a trusted advisor to his clients, including BMS Intermediaries, Inc. and Bristow Group. He is responsible for directing GeoDecisions Track, a global asset tracking and reporting software, GeoDecisions Notify, a mass messaging system used to assist clients in emergency response and notifications, and GeoPlan, GeoDecisions’ web-based software package that helps municipalities, counties, and cities manage operations. He also assisted with the creation of FISHIDY, a location-based social network combining fishing information, interactive waterway maps, and social connections.

Smith received a bachelor of science in regional planning with a minor in geography/GIS from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
