Your phone buzzes, and a text message tells you that you have assets in danger from a pending threat. Embedded in the text message is a link to a map that shows you where the threat is and which of your assets are in danger. You and your team are able to act in advance of the pending threat to manage your assets, and update your supply change. But you took it to another level - you set up the notification to alert your employees, your customers, or your clients of the threat; you provide suggestions on how to protect their assets, family, or friends from the pending threat, and you did it all within one application.

GeoDecisions Insurance App Delivers Answers – without Maps (sort of)

Yes – geospatial technology is what we eat, sleep and dream about day in and day out. We’re all map geeks to some degree here at GeoDecisions, but it doesn’t mean that every solution we create requires the latest and greatest in web GIS User Interface (UI). In certain situations the best solution is a 20th-century one.

Case in point: the lowly E-mail. Yes, it is hopelessly out of fashion in view of most cutting-edge technology trends. But when it comes to listening to clients’ needs, “fashion” and “trend” should be the last thing when crafting a solution. The goal should be: communications in a manner that’s clear, comfortable and relevant to the user.

Insurance and Spatial Information, a Perfect Match

Understanding the world through a spreadsheet can be very difficult. Sure, you can see the address, the business line, or the Total Insured Value for one of the policies. But, it is very difficult to see how that one policy relates to the next policy, or if there is a relationship. GeoDecisions has been helping our insurance partners make sense of the spatial information found in a spreadsheet for many years. Focusing on visualization of our partners’ portfolios, we use the latest Esri® technologies to display, aggregate, symbolize, and compare policies, claims, and other attributes. This strategy provides our partners with a more accurate and encompassing view of their portfolio(s).

Esri Business Solutions Facilitate Problem Solving

Recently an Insurance Client came to us needing help with a migration away from their current GIS software to Esri's software suite. They wanted to take the opportunity to update and revise their GIS workflows as well but were unsure about how to best do that with this unfamiliar software. GeoDecisions was enlisted and supplied one of our Senior GIS staff members to work closely with the client’s analyst to update their processes, tools, and workflows and recommend new ideas and solutions.
