GeoDecisions Receives Esri Partner Award for Analytics

We are excited to announce that GeoDecisions received the 2024 Esri Partner Conference (EPC) Award for Analytics.

Esri announced the award winners during the plenary session of the annual EPC earlier this month in Palm Springs, California. This achievement recognizes innovation in solving complex problems using Esri’s ArcGIS software, advancing geographic information system (GIS) technology, and developing creative location intelligence and mapping solutions.

As a platinum partner in the Esri Partner Network, we are in lock-step with Esri’s vision and go-to-market strategy. We gain firsthand insights into emerging trends and develop resolutions by optimizing enterprise-level technology transformation, offering scalable solutions that align with business objectives to allow our clients to gain a competitive advantage. Our dedication to solving complex challenges using analytics, generative artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data visualization continues to drive us forward. Our innovative approaches allow clients to leverage location data to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Helping Clients Unlock the Full Potential of Their Data

GeoDecisions looks for ways to positively impact the world with technology. Leveraging the power of Esri technology, we developed analytical tools to help the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Chicago Transit Authority.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory

Using analytics as our guide, we developed a cost-estimating tool for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). This tool helps NREL understand the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and the most economical locations to expand grids and power generation. Specific to the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure: Localized Charging Assessment Tool and Estimator (EVI-LOCATE), we used:

  • ArcGIS Enterprise to geoprocess data, host data, and manage the user base for tool access.

  • Esri deep learning models to find pervious and impervious soils for the needed trenching calculations for EV charger installation.

  • ArcGIS Field Apps to collect field data during project initiation.

  • Esri dashboards and geoprogressing outputs to visualize spatial data, decrease the amount of time analyzing sites, and provide real-time information.

Chicago Transit Authority

Additionally, we partnered with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) in becoming the first large public sector transit agency to implement battery electric buses (BEB). We have been with CTA throughout their journey — from fleet planning to charger sequencing, integrating Esri technology and introducing location-based data into the analysis equation. We are currently assisting CTA with the next phase of determining optimized bus routes and charging schedules.

The Future of Analytics

Born from innovation, GeoDecisions thrives in solving complex challenges. Our analytic accomplishments allow us to continue helping clients with their obstacles.

Recognizing the continued influx of EV fleet electrification, we predict that federal, state, and local agencies will continue to be impacted by EV charging. With this mindset, we are working with NREL to take the estimating tool to the next level to help with grid analysis and expansion. We will also continue to use generative AI and machine learning to solve challenges through the power of analytics.

Understanding the demand for electricity will significantly increase over the next 25 years, GeoDecisions is working with NREL to take the estimating tool to the next level to help with grid analysis and expansion. We will be expanding the use of the EVI-LOCATE tool from single site location to local grid expansion. The tool combines technology and analytics to understand energy demand and usage trends, predict high-demand times, and assist local utilities in expanding power grid capacity.

The EPC Analytics Award is a testament to our team's collaboration, dedication, and innovative spirit. We are proud to receive this recognition and remain committed to using our expertise in geospatial data and analytics to make a positive impact on the world.
